Avicenna Journal of Medical Sciences is a leading medical journal of basic and clinical research with translational impact in clinical practice. The journal provide a platform for mentoring to a diverse community of medical specialty including young investigators, and advancing their careers in academic medicine. Its editorial members are committed to mentoring young medical and early career investigators in the field of medical sciences. Articles will be accepted based on double blind peer-reviews, priority, and editorial decision. We publish materials of interest to the clinicians and scientists in the broad field of health, allied health and molecular sciences for an internationally diverse authorship. Clinical studies, clinical trials, population studies, public health, discovery medicine, study of microbes, molecular and cellular biology, basic mechanisms, genetics, cancer biology, molecular medicine, pharmacology, virology, chemical biology, immunobiology, chemical biology, physiological and pathological studies are within the scope of journal. Articles describing original qualitative, quantitative, human/animal clinical or laboratory studies are considered for publication. All manuscripts should be comprehensible to the general reader and lead to improved decision making in clinical practice, medical education, research and policy. Types of articles include case reports, case series, descriptive and analytical research with clinical trials, short reports, special communications and letter to the editor. Clinical conference abstracts, special issues, articles regarding innovation and those related to research methods and reporting are also published. Secondary research including narrative reviews, systematic reviews, evidence-based articles, meta-analysis, and practice guidelines will also be considered for publication.The AJMS publishes, on a biannually basis, peer-reviewed articles in the field of medical sciences which include:
- Original Basic and molecular research
- Original clinical research
- Review articles
- Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis
- Case reports and case series
Editorial board can invite articles, editorials and review on selected topics that will be considered for publication. Manuscripts, including illustrations, tables and figures must be original and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Avicenna Journal of Medical Sciences has agreed to receive and publish manuscripts in accordance with the instructions of 'International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
